EP casework and time banks, sorted

Journify handles the business side of EP work: local authority commissions with a six week deadline clock, school traded time held as prepaid days, and assessment reports with score profiles plotted for you.

Regulated by the HCPC (educational psychologist is a protected title). Professional bodies: the AEP and the BPS Division of Educational and Child Psychology.

The educational psychology pack follows within six months of launch; until then you can start on the nearest launch pack plus the General pack, switch on the EHCP advice builder, time banks and school funding (already built for SLT work), and we'll move you onto the EP pack when it ships.

What it does for educational psychologists

Six weeks from the LA's request

There's a national shortage of EPs, and local authorities lean on associates and locums to get statutory psychological advice out within six weeks. When you take a commission, log it and Journify starts a deadline clock on your dashboard. The EHCNA advice template is mapped to the four areas of need and Sections B, E and F, with provision specified and quantified.

  • Amber at 10 working days left, red at 5
  • Day rates invoiced against the LA's purchase order
  • A template for capturing the child's own views

Traded days, counted properly

Schools buy EP time as a block of days. Journify holds that as a prepaid time bank, so each consultation, observation or training session comes off the balance and you can send the school a statement whenever they ask. Consultation records keep the agreed actions and a review date, so the next visit picks up where the last one stopped.

  • A time bank statement for each school
  • Consultation notes with an action tracker
  • Half day and full day blocks, plus training sessions

Score profiles without the fiddling

Enter WISC-V, BAS3, WIAT-4, YARC or CTOPP-2 scores from your own licensed materials and Journify plots standard scores with confidence intervals against the normal curve, ready to drop into the report. Parent and teacher questionnaires go out through the portal to several people at once, so their views are in before you start writing.

  • Standard scores, percentiles, confidence intervals and descriptive ranges
  • Classroom and playground observation with time sampling
  • Report templates for SpLD, exam access and tribunal work

Switched on when you choose educational psychology

Pick your profession when you join and these are ready from your first sign in. Everything can be edited.

  • A consultation record with an action tracker and review date
  • A child's voice template, plus parent and teacher questionnaires sent through the portal
  • An assessment template covering background, views, observation, scores and formulation, mapped to the four SEND areas of need
  • Observation notes with time sampling
  • A score profile chart with confidence intervals for reports
  • EHCNA psychological advice, annual review contribution, independent EP, SpLD, exam access and tribunal report templates
  • School time bank statements, LA purchase orders and time and activity billing
  • Recommendation libraries by area of need

Measures and assessments

  • WISC-V, BAS3, WIAT-4, YARC and CTOPP-2 as score tables (standard scores, percentiles, confidence intervals and descriptive ranges). These tests are licensed and qualification-restricted, so you use your own licensed copies and Journify never stores their items
  • Built in: Goal Attainment Scaling and Goals Based Outcomes for intervention work

Who pays, and how it's billed

Local authorities pay day rates against a purchase order, schools buy prepaid days, and parents and solicitors commission independent assessments and tribunal reports. Tribunal reports are standard-rated; VAT on EHCNA advice isn't settled yet, so until a VAT specialist confirms it Journify sets EHCNA advice to standard if you're VAT-registered (with a "check with your accountant" note) and diagnostic assessment to exempt.

Questions from educational psychologists

Can I use Journify before the EP pack is ready?

Yes. You can sign up from launch on the nearest launch pack plus the General pack, and switch on the EHCP advice builder, deadline clock, time banks and school funding yourself. When the EP pack ships, we add its templates and nothing you've set up gets overwritten.

I'm an associate for several local authorities. Can I keep them apart?

Yes. Each LA is its own funder contract with its own rates, purchase order and deadline settings. Solo includes up to 3 funder contracts, which may not be enough if you also run school time banks; Practice has no limit.

Will Journify store test items or record forms?

It never stores the questions from licensed tests. You record the scores from your own copy, and you can attach the completed record form as a PDF if you want it on file.

Does it fill in exam access arrangements forms?

It gives you a template with the fields you need for the evidence. It doesn't reproduce the exam boards' own forms, so you'll still complete those on their side.
