Your physio clinic, in one place

Journify gives you MSK notes with body charts, ROM tables and asterisk re-tests, home exercise programmes your patients follow in the portal, and insurer billing that keeps track of every authorisation. Pick physiotherapy when you sign up and it's set up for physio from the first login.

Regulated by the HCPC (protected titles: physiotherapist and physical therapist). Professional body: the CSP and its networks, such as APCP, POGP and MACP.

What it does for physiotherapists

Insurer work without the spreadsheet

We can't change what insurers pay, and the CSP says they aren't recognising the rising costs independent physios face. What we can do is take the admin off your evenings. Each insured patient gets a funder record holding the authorisation code, sessions authorised, the date range and who pays the excess.

  • Presets for Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality and WPA (layouts only, you set your own rates)
  • A prompt when you hit "Session 5 of 6 authorised: request more sessions?"
  • The excess goes on the patient's invoice and the rest on the insurer's

Your asterisk signs, ready to retest

Star any finding in the initial assessment and it comes back as a re-test table at every follow-up, with last time's values alongside. ROM tables are preset per region, active and passive, left and right, with end-feel, pain and overpressure. In a 30 minute follow-up, that's time back.

  • Body charts with the usual MSK symbols: shading, dots, hatching, P1 to P3 and arrows
  • Dermatome overlay, C2 to S5, for radicular pain
  • Special tests grouped by region: Lachman, Hawkins-Kennedy, FABER, slump and the rest

Red flags you can't skip past

The spinal red-flag screen covers cauda equina symptoms and has a mandatory field for whether safety-netting advice was given. If anything's positive, you record what you did about it before the note can be finalised. Journify never decides what a red flag means. That's your call.

  • A cauda equina safety-netting card to hand to the patient
  • Signed notes lock, and amendments stay visible with the original kept, as the CSP's record keeping guidance asks
  • Your practice abbreviation list (AROM, SLR, HEP) prints as a glossary on record exports

Switched on when you choose physiotherapy

Pick your profession when you join and these are ready from your first sign in. Everything can be edited.

  • MSK initial assessment and follow-up templates, SOAP by default, plus a cervical arterial dysfunction screen
  • Body chart sets for full body, spine, head and TMJ, shoulder, hand and wrist, lower limb, and foot and ankle
  • ROM tables for every region, Oxford strength grades and a Beighton score widget
  • An exercise library of 200 exercises drawn in one consistent style, with room for your own photos and videos
  • Home exercise programmes in the portal, where patients tick off each session and add a pain rating
  • Insurer billing with authorisations, and cash-plan receipts with your HCPC number on
  • 5 and 10 session packages, and clinical Pilates classes of up to 8 (classes need the Practice plan)
  • Neuro, paediatric and pelvic health variants, each with its own assessment template

Who pays, and how it's billed

Most MSK work is self-pay or private medical insurance (often with an excess the patient pays first), plus cash-plan members who pay and reclaim, employers paying for fitness-for-work assessments and case managers on neuro work. Treatment by an HCPC-registered physio is VAT exempt, but medico-legal reports, fitness-for-work reports for an employer and retail sold separately are standard-rated.

Questions from physiotherapists

Can I send claims through Healthcode?

Not at launch. Healthcode e-billing is in our second phase, aimed at August 2028. Until then you get insurer-ready invoices built from each patient's authorisation, which you send by email or through the insurer's own portal.

We already use Physitrack. Do we have to give it up?

Linking out to Physitrack and Wibbi is planned for a later phase, not launch. At launch you'd use our own library of 200 exercises, where patients log each session and you see how they're getting on as an adherence strip.

Will the AI scribe write my notes for me?

It drafts them, with the patient's knowledge, into your own templates. You check, correct and sign before anything is saved. It only goes live once it's passed our clinical safety tests, and if it isn't ready for launch we'll launch without it and say so.

What about pelvic health?

Pick the pelvic health variant and you get the pelvic floor clock-face chart, written consent for intimate examination with a chaperone record, the 3 day bladder diary in the portal, and an initials-only mode for the calendar.
