Recalls, nail surgery, home visits

Journify gives podiatrists foot and nail charts, vascular and neuro assessments that set the diabetic foot risk and the recall, and medicines and sterilisation logs that link straight to the appointment.

Regulated by the HCPC (protected titles: podiatrist and chiropodist). Professional body: the Royal College of Podiatry.

The podiatry pack, with its foot and nail charts, follows within six months of launch, and until then you can start on the physiotherapy pack plus the General pack and we'll move you across when it ships.

What it does for podiatrists

Recalls that keep the diary full

Recall every 6 to 8 weeks is what keeps most podiatry practices going. The diabetic foot risk template grades risk as low, moderate, high or active and sets the recall interval from it. Then the reminders go out without you chasing anyone.

  • Diabetes risk flags on the client header, where you can't miss them
  • Home visits as their own service with a travel surcharge, and mileage logged
  • Cash-plan receipts with your HCPC number on, so patients can reclaim

Vascular and neuro findings together

The assessment records dorsalis pedis and posterior tibial pulses, capillary refill, Doppler waveform, ABPI and TBPI, 10 g monofilament sites and vibration with a 128 Hz fork. If you find absent pulses, there's a GP letter template ready for the vascular referral.

  • Lesion symbols for HK, HD, HM, verruca, ulcer, fissure and nail changes
  • A wound photo series with measurements side by side
  • Doppler sites marked on the dorsal and medial views

Nail surgery with an audit trail

The nail surgery note records consent, pre-op checks, the anaesthetic (drug, concentration, volume, batch, expiry and block site), tourniquet time, procedure and phenol time. The medicines log keeps every local anaesthetic you give. And the sterilisation log ties each autoclave cycle and instrument pack to the appointment it was used for.

  • Nail surgery priced as a package with two redressing visits included
  • A nail surgery consent form and post-op instructions handout
  • Orthotic prescription and lab order form

Who pays, and how it's billed

Self-pay older adults, cash-plan members (very common), insured biomechanics and surgery, and care homes. Treatment by an HCPC-registered podiatrist is VAT exempt, creams and off-the-shelf insoles sold separately are standard-rated, and orthoses supplied as part of treatment are one to check with your accountant.

Questions from podiatrists

Does it help with Making Tax Digital?

Journify isn't tax software, so your quarterly updates still go from your accounting package. What it does is send your invoices and payments to Xero or QuickBooks, so the income side of your books is already digital. MTD has covered self-employed people earning over £50,000 since April 2026, with lower thresholds in 2027 and 2028.

Can I join at launch, before the podiatry pack?

Yes, but we'd rather be straight with you: the foot and nail charts arrive with the podiatry pack, within six months of launch. Until then you'd use the physiotherapy pack's foot and ankle chart plus the General pack, and we move you across when the pack ships.

Do I pay for my receptionist?

No. Admin staff are free. You pay per practitioner, on Solo, Practice or Clinic. Prices are still being finalised, so they're TBC for now.
